Grand Haven’s John Potter had five kickoffs in Sunday’s NFL opener for the Buffalo Bills, who lost 48-28 to the New York Jets.

Potter, who is a kickoff specialist for the Bills, kicked four ball into the end zone, three of which resulted in touchbacks. His kickoff to start the game was returned 24 yards to the 19-yard line.

In the game’s final minutes, Potter had an onside kick that was recovered by the Jets.

Muskegon Catholic graduate Ruvell Martin, a wide receiver and special teams player for the Bills, did not have a catch or a tackle in the game.
