Adam Poel set the tone for the day for the Muskegon Community College baseball team on its southern trip.

Poel pitched a complete game in the opener and led the Jayhawks to a 10-2 victory over Mercyhurst Northeastern. Poel allowed one earned run and scattered seven hits. Travis Cohoon had three hits, including a two-run homer. Ty Devine and John Jackoviak each added two hits.

In the second game, Kyle Vedrode was the winning pitcher. Jackoviak had two hits, one a home run, and drove in two runs. Devine had two doubles and knocked in three runs and Patrick Giddings had two hits. Jason Ribecky belted a home run.

MCC is now 5-4 and finish up their trip with on Friday with a doubleheader against Olney Community College.
