In a battle of state powers, Lowell knocked off unbeaten Muskegon 31-20 on Friday night in Lowell.

These two teams met twice last season with the Big Reds winning both games, but the Red Arrows turned the tables on Friday night.

The Red Arrows jumped out to a 20-7 lead after the first quarter and never relinquished the lead after that.

Muskegon got on the board in the first quarter on a 49 pass from DeShaun Thrower to Justin Foster.

Muskegon’s John Hall scored on 15-yard run in the third quarter for the Big Reds.

Thrower was 7-of-20 passing for 132 yards for the Big Reds and he added 40 yards rushing on 16 attempts.

Hall rushed three times for 24 yards and Foster caught one pass for 48 yards for the Big Reds.

William Hunt recovered a fumble for the Big Reds.
