Grant takes two from Howard City Tri-County, WM Christian falls to Fruitport in softball

Grant hitters led the way in the Tigers’ doubleheader sweep of Howard City Tri-County in Lakes 8 softball action on Tuesday. The Tigers won 8-4 and 14-12.

Emily Gabrielse posted two doubles and two RBI and Dayna Wood had three hits and an RBI in Game 1. Wood also posted the win on the mound for Grant.

In Game 2, Wood led the Tigers at the plate with three hits and five RBI while Gabrielse had three hits and two RBI. Gabrielse was the winning pitcher for Grant.

Fruitport 16-14, Western Michigan Christian 0-4: Sara Katje had the lone hit for WMC in Game 1 on Wednesday. Haylee Moser had two hits for WMC in Game 2. Carly Poel and a single and an RBI, Katje, and Elizabeth Pell each had hits for the Warriors.
