Riley Fairfield had a big night in leading North Muskegon to a 34-7 West Michigan Conference victory against Shelby on Friday night.
North Muskegon jumped out to an early 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter on a 22-yard run from Vernonell Smith.
Fairfield had a big second quarter. He tossed a 33-yard touchdown pass to Logan Waller in the second quarter. Fairfield also added a 64-yard fumble recovery touchdown three minutes later.
In the fourth quarter, Fairfield threw a 34-yard TD pass to Smith.
Shelby got on the scoreboard with a 58-yard touchdown run from Zack Stuberg, who finished with 192 yards on 10 carries. Juan Cavazos also contributed 63 yards on 11 carries for the Tigers.
Shelby falls to 2-6 on the season while North Muskegon improves to 4-4.
