The Muskegon Community College softball team split a doubleheader with Ancilla College on Thursday.

The Jayhawks won the opener 10-8. Every MCC starter had at least a hit, and Hannah Smith, Alessa Buchner, Kirsten Johnson, Bree Weck, and Mikala MacGeorge led the way with two apiece.

Buchner slugged her fourth homer of the season pitcher Mikala MacGeorge scattered seven its in a complete-game win.

MCC lost the second game 9-8 in extra innings. Brandi Rice led the Jayhawks offense with three hits, including her second homer of the season. Buchner and Johnson each added two hits.

The Jayhawks are now 9-16 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
