The Ludington softball team dropped two games against Benzie Central in a doubleheader on Monday.

The Orioles lost the opener 18-3, then dropped the nightcap by a 21-11 margin.

Ludington was led by Megan Mulherin on the mound in Game 1, pitching 3 1/3 innings with three strikeouts.

Taylor Makowicki paced the Oriole offense with two hits and one run scored, while Bailee Wyson had one hit with two RBIs and Katlyn Knudsen had a hit and an RBI.

In Game 2 Olivia VerStrat suffered the loss from the mound with five strikeouts in four innings of play.

Leading the offense for Ludington was also VerStrat, who went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and five RBIs to go with the three runs she scored. Makowiki contributed with a triple, RBI and one run scored.

Ludington is now 2-21 overall and 0-9 in conference play.
