Rachel Paulsen and Aurora Wilks pitched the Fruitport softball team to a non-league doubleheader sweep of Cedar Springs on Thursday.

In Game 1, Paulsen threw five innings, allowing one run and striking out eight batters to lead Fruitport to a 14-1 victory. Brynne Tober led the Trojans at the plate with three RBIs.

In Game 2, Aurora Wilks threw a one-hit shutout in five innings of work while striking out four, helping the Trojans win 10-0. She also had three RBIs at the plate.

NON-LEAGUE

FOREST HILLS CENTRAL 20-5, MONA SHORES 5-9 – The Sailors split a non-league doubleheader with the Rangers Thursday night.

In Game 1, Mona Shores slugger Taylor Dew had a solo home run in the losing effort.

In game 2, Lauryn Patterson picked up the win on the mound for the Sailors. Veronica Kastelic led the offense with three hits, including a grand slam in the final inning, to give Mona Shores the win.

Mona Shores is now 14-10 on the season and 5-1 in O-K Black Conference play.

NORTH MUSKEGON 12, WMCC 2 – WMCC wasn’t able to get the bats going against the Norse. Maria Sanokci and Sophie Hawke shared duties on the mound for WMCC, striking out five batters.

Catherine Bradford-Royle and Hannah Netsell each had an RBI at the plate for WMCC, which fell to to 5-11 this season.

North Muskegon statistics were not available.

TRAVERSE CITY CENTRAL 15-15, LUDINGTON 0-1 – The Orioles couldn’t get their bats going against the Trojans and lost both games of the non-league doubleheader.

In Game 1, Megan Mulherin pitched for Ludington and struck out two. In the nightcap, Olivia VerStrat struck out four for the Orioles and scored their only run.

Ludington fell to 2-13 on the season.

O-K BLACK

MUSKEGON 13-19, GRAND RAPIDS UNION 3-8 – The Big Reds swept the conference doubleheader in two five-inning games.

Aniyah Beasley was the winning pitcher in both games for the Big Reds.

Muskegon is now 2-10 overall and 2-4 in the league.

O-K RED

CALEDONIA 8, GRAND HAVEN 7 – The Bucs weren’t able to get pass the Warriors Thursday night. Madison Shumaker took the loss for Grand Haven, throwing 4 2/3 innings while allowing 11 hits and striking out two. Shumaker had a good game at the plate, collecting three hits with an RBI.

CSAA

HOLTON 5-11, WHITE CLOUD 1-3 – The Red Devils took care of the Indians in a CSAA doubleheader. In Game 1, Kylie Gould grabbed the victory on the mound, striking out seven batters. She also led the Red Devils at the plate with two hits.

In Game 2, Haylee Brant pitched the victory while Morgan Murat led the way at the plate with three hits.

Holton improved to 18-4 on the season and 13-1 in the CSAA.
