The Mason County Central boys basketball team earned a league win over Shelby 45-35 on Thursday in a make-up WMC contest.

Jeffery Carrier led the Spartans with 19 points, 13 rebounds and four assists while Rae’Kwon Simpson had nine points.

Mason County Central trailed 16-9 after the first quarter before cutting its deficit to 24-20 at halftime with an 11-8 second quarter tear.

The Spartans grabbed a 34-28 advantage through three quarters after a 14-4 run during the stanza.

The Tigers were paced by Tyler Scohuten with 19 points and five rebounds while Joseph Hayes had eight points.

Mason County Central is now 7-10 on the season and 3-9 in league play, while the Tigers fell to 2-15 overall and 0-12 in conference action.
