Newaygo clinched its first playoff appearance since 2007 Friday, earning a 41-6 Central States Athletic Association win over White Cloud.

The host Lions built a 35-0 lead by halftime en route to improving to 6-1 on the season.

Max Harrington rushed for two touchdowns and 197 yards for Newaygo, which will travel to Big Rapids next Friday.

The Lions’ Weston Butler passed for only 88 yards, but connected on TD strikes to Connor Bradley (38 yards) and Zach Knight (18).

Tony Gill led Newaygo’s defense with 11 tackles, Brandon Foster added nine and Austin Bouwer had seven.

White Cloud’s David Dykstra finished with 51 yards rushing and John Jones added 28 and a score.
