The Muskegon Heights Academy played its first varsity basketball game as a charter school on Tuesday night and came away with a 74-50 win over visiting Muskegon Waypoint Academy.
Even after losing several top players to transfers, the Heights Academy displayed plenty of firepower against Waypoint Academy.
Carlos Hudson scored 21 points and had seven steals as Heights Academy built a 43-28 halftime lead.
Jeff Jordan added 17 points and six steals for the Tigers and Toren Ezrika added 15 points.
Zearon Bell scored 15 points and Darrion Green scored 13.
