KENT CITY QUALIFIES SIX WRESTLERS FOR FINALS AT DIVISION 4 REGIONAL TOURNAMENT

Kent City had six wrestlers advance to the individual state finals wrestling tournament on Saturday at the Division 4 individual regional meet hosted by Bangor High School.

The top-four wrestlers in each weight class advanced to the Individual State Finals Feb. 28-March 2 at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Konner Wolter (215) led the Eagles by winning a regional championship.

Shane Rodenburg (171) placed second and qualified for the state finals as did Brendon Rodenburg (135) and K J Herremans (152), who both placed third for Kent City and fourth-place finishers Jayson Ellicott (140) and Tom Devos (285).

Holton’s Hayden Cregg (135) placed second to earn a trip to the state finals.

Montague’s Sawyer Smith (152) was a regional champion and will also advance to the state finals.
