The Whitehall Vikings saw its dream of a state title in Division 3 team wrestling come to an end on Saturday in a 39-31 loss to the Richmond Blue Devils.

The tournament is being held in Battle Creek.

Through five matches, Whitehall trailed 12-10, but in the next five matches, Richmond won them all with four pins and one decision and took an insurmountable lead.

Buck Houts posted an overtime victory at 152. That was followed by three straight pins by Steven Sika (160), Joe Sika (171) and Travis Friend (189).

Richmond will take on Dundee in the state title match. Dundee defeated Birch Run in the other semifinal match.
