Late second-half goal earns North Muskegon a trip to boys soccer district finals

MUSKEGON – The North Muskegon boys soccer team outlasted a game NorthPointe Christian squad Thursday, earning a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Mustangs to advance to Saturday’s Div. 4 district finals match versus Muskegon Catholic.

Justice Sikkema, assisted by Marcos Visconti, scored the match’s lone goal with less than a quarter of the contest left to go.

Muskegon Catholic, which defeated Western Michigan Christian in the other semifinal in an emotional 2-1 decision, is looking to avenge last season’s 2-1 double overtime loss to North Muskegon.
