A strong third quarter helped seal a 36-34 victory for the Pentwater girls basketball team Thursday night over rival Walkerville in Western Michigan D League game action.

The Falcons found themselves down 15-14 at the half-time break before going on a 12-4 run in the third to lead 26-19.

The Wildcats finished with a 15-10 run in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.

Emily Gebhart led the Falcons with 12 points while teammate Linnea McDonough added 10 points.

Walkerville was led by Mandy Achterhoff, who had a game-high 14 points. Brenda Diaz added 12 points in the loss.
