Kylie Masko scored in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by Morgan Hill, giving Grand Haven an exciting 6-5 victory over Fruitport Wednesday in the first game of a non-league softball doubleheader.

Mikayla Gronback paced the Bucs with four hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Masko pitched five innings to get the win while Kaylee Hartwell pitched two innings to notch the save.

Kelsey Alviar and Andrea Benson each had a pair of hits for Fruitport.

In the nightcap, Maddie Barshaw’s two-run double in the fourth inning was all the offense Grande Haven would need in a 5-1 victory. Jordan Buckingham had a single and a double for the Bucs while Kylie Masko picked up the win on the mound. Delany Bennet knocked in the only run for Fruitport.

Hesperia 13-7, Hart 0-0: In the opener, pitcher Sam Burdick tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out five for Hesperia. Danielle Wolfsen knocked in four runs for the Panthers.  In the nightcap, Meradith Schmitz pitched four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.  Kate West knocked in three runs while Katey Annis had two RBIs and closed the game for the Panthers by pitching the final three innings.
