The hot hand of Will Roberson lifted the Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team to a 74-70 road win Wednesday against the Calvin College JV squad.

MCC built a 39-32 lead by halftime and hung on in the second half.

Roberson, a Muskegon grad, scored 21 points, including three triples, and dished out six assists on the night.

“I thought we did some things well that we have been stressing but still have those glaring mistakes we need to correct,” said MCC Coach Dave Schlump. “This was a good win, though.”

Eddie Tornes had 16 points and eight rebounds for MCC. Aaron Sydnor stepped up in the second half and finished with a double-double, 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Calvin was led by Nathan Drews with 29 points. Drews hit seven of the Knights’ 12 3-pointers.
