The Muskegon Community College softball team jumped out to an early lead and rolled to an 18-3 victory over East Central College on Saturday at Kankakee, Illinois.

LSJ Logo incertMCC took control of the contest by scoring 11 runs in the first inning. Caten Teff had four RBIs on two hits for Jayhawks, including a three-run homer. Amy Gillings also cranked a three-run blast while Sarah Ferenz hit a two-run double.

Morgan Giddings totaled three hits for MCC.

Alexis Carpenter recorded the win on the mound, scattering five hits over five innings while walking two.
