Detroit sports glance: Tigers drop series opener 5-2 against Rays

Rays 5, Tigers 2 – The Tigers lost their second game in a row, losing to the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night.

Yoenis Cespedes accounted for Detroit’s runs, with a home run and an RBI single.

Detroit starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez pitched the loss, allowing three runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.

The Tigers will look to even the series with the Rays on Tuesday night.
