Red Wings 2, Maple Leafs 1 (OT) –Henrik Zetterberg notched his 300th career goal as the Red Wings defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime on Friday night.

LSJ Logo incertZetterberg’s goal gave Detroit a 1-0 lead after the first period. He becomes the eighth Red Wing to score 300 goals.

The Maple Leafs tied the game with 1:02 left in regulation on a goal from Dion Phaneuf.

Jakub Kindl scored the game-winning goal 2:17 into overtime.

Justin Abdelkader, Dylan Larkin, Teemu Pulkkinen and Tomas Tatar each picked up assists forEye on the D the Red Wings.

Detroit’s goaltender Petr Mrazek had a strong performance in net, stopping 32 of 33 shots.

The Red Wings are now 7-5-1 on the season, good for 15 points and fourth place in the Atlantic Division.

Detroit will head back home to take on the Dallas Stars on Sunday.

Pistons 100, Suns 82 – The Detroit Pistons opened their six-game road trip with a victory over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

The Pistons saved their best for last, scoring 33 fourth quarter points.

Reggie Jackson led the Pistons with 23 points and seven assists, while Marcus Morris scored 20 points against his former squad.

Andre Drummond led Detroit with 17 rebounds and added 12 points.

Detroit is now 4-1 on the season, good for second place in the Central Division behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Pistons will continue their western trip on Sunday night against the Portland Trailblazers.
