The Spring Lake softball team won its 10th Lakes 8 title in the last 14 years.

LSJ Logo incertThe Lakers swept Fruitport in a doubleheader, 16-1 and 12-0, on Tuesday night to improve to 26-0 on the season.

In Game 1, Spring Lake was paced by Katie Mumby with four hits, including a home run, and five RBIs while Jenna Core added three hits, including her seventh homer of the season.

Lakers’ pitcher Madelyn Nelson picked up the win, striking out 10 batters.

The Trojans were led by Alexis Jurgens and Rachel Paulsen with two hits apiece.

In Game 2, Lauren Hellman paced Spring Lake with four hits and three runs scored while Mumby and Ann Marie Galloway chipped in with two hits apiece.

Galloway also homered in the contest.

Spring Lake’s Leah Vaughan pitched the win, tossing a two-hit shutout.
