McKenzie Nyblade made a diving catch late in the game that robbed Montague of at least two runs and helped Mona Shores preserve its lead in a 5-4 non-conference victory.
With the tight win, the Sailors improve to 21-17 this season.
Sailors’ pitcher Desi Parker earned the win, as she struck out five Wildcats. At the plate, Sami Sanborn had a two-RBI single, and Kendall Flannery contributed two hits.
Head coach Jason Crago was pleased no only with Nyblade’s dazzling effort, but also the rest of the Sailors’ defense, which played error-free softball.
