The Spring Lake boys basketball team improved to 4-1 on the season with a non-conference 63-45 win over Oakridge on Tuesday night.

The Lakers jumped out to a 14-5 lead after one quarter and had a 32-16 advantage at halftime.

Cameron Ball paced Spring Lake with 15 points while Sam Johnson contributed with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Eagles were led by Morgan Meinders with 13 points.

NEWAYGO 79, HESPERIA 52 – The Panthers failed to overcome a 42-23 halftime deficit. Scott Peters led the Panthers (0-3, 0-1) with 18 points and seven rebounds on the night while Jake Klemundt added 10 points.

HOLLAND 81, REETHS-PUFFER 54 – The Rockets were outscored 45-21 in the second half on Tuesday night in their attempt to win a second straight game. Emcee Williams led the Rockets with 12 points while Carter Fulton added 10.

HOLLAND WEST OTTAWA 85, MONA SHORES 53 – The Sailors unable to overcome a 15-5 opening quarter deficit in a non-conference game. Jarvis Walker Jr. led Mona Shores (0-3) with 24 points while James Gilbert had 14.

ORCHARD VIEW 79, FRUITPORT 53 – Four players scored in double figures to lead the Cardinals (2-1) on Tuesday night in a non-league game. Samuel and Edmari Mitchell led the way with 15 and 13 points, respectively, while Anthony Lewis scored 11 for Orchard View and Dayton Rose chipped in with 10 points along with 10 rebounds. The Trojans were led by Cameron Oleen with 21 points while Jacob Miller added 8.

ZION CHRISTIAN 41, FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 24 – The Eagles were led by Alec Cammenga with 14 points, eight rebounds and 10 steals. 

HOLTON 63, MASON COUNTY EASTERN 35 – The Red Devils led 34-25 at halftime before grabbing a 29-10 edge in the second half. Kevin Slowik paced Holton with 22 points, while Brent McLaughlin added 19 and Kyle Wildfong chipped in with 11.
