Logan Karnemaat led Fremont boys basketball team to a 57-51 win over Chippewa Hills with 22 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in a hard fought CSAA Gold contest on Friday.

Chippewa Hills led 9-8 after the first quarter and the two teams were tied at 22-22 at halftime.

Fremont (2-0, 1-0) trailed by one-point heading into the fourth quarter, but the Packers went on a huge run at the start of the fourth quarter and went up by as much as 12 points.

Calvin Miller recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Packers, while Ben Schmidt chipped in with 10 points, six assists, and five steals.

CSAA

MORLEY STANWOOD 59, HESPERIA 32 – The Panthers fell behind early and could never chip away at the deficit in their season opener. Morley Stanwood outscored Hesperia by at least five points in each quarter. Jacob Klemundt led Hesperia (0-1, 0-1) with 12 points, while Scott Peters added 10 points and dished out four assists.

 

NON-LEAGUE

NORTHVIEW 56, REETHS-PUFFER 43 – The Rockets jumped out to a 22-20 halftime lead before Northview responded with an 18-5 third quarter run. Emcee Williams paced Reeths-Puffer with 12 points while Gary Humphrey III added 10 points and 10 rebounds. De’Airros Ware contributed 10 points for the Rockets.

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 67, KALAMAZOO CHRISTIAN HERITAGE 33 – Jacob McFarren’s 33-point performance led the Eagles to a victory on Friday. Ben Zelenka and Zach Zehr each added 14 points for Fruitport Calvary.

SPRING LAKE 63, FRUITPORT 38 – The Lakers jumped out to a 21-5 lead after the first quarter and held a 35-14 advantage at the half. Jack Van Wingen led Spring Lake with 13 points while Sam Johnson added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Griffin Lorimer chipped in with 10 points for the Lakers.
