Maggie Evans scored three unanswered goals during the second half to give the Whitehall girls soccer team its first win of the season, a 4-2 victory over Grant.

Kacy Jeffries started the scoring for Whitehall with an assist from Camryn Evans to go up 1-0.

The Tigers responded with two quick goals and had a 2-1 advantage at halftime.

Evans took control in the second half, recording the hat trick lead Whitehall to victory.

The Vikings start the season with a 1-0 record.

HOLLAND CHRISTIAN 5, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 1- The Warriors scored their only goal in the first half on a tally from Anna Sytsema.

The contest was tied 1-1 at halftime before the Maroons scored four unanswered goals.

The Warriors start the season with a 0-1 record.

MONA SHORES 2, ROCKFORD 2- The Sailors overcame a two goal deficit to force a tie in their season opener.

Mona Shores trailed 2-0 at halftime.

The Sailors cut their deficit to 2-1 on a goal from Bro Wade that was assisted by Nora Brown.

Erin Powers tied the game 2-2 five minutes after Wade’s goal on a feed from Riley Rosenthal.

The Sailors are now 0-1-1 on the young season.
