The Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team earned its way into Friday’s Division 1 district championship game with a 48-33 victory over Kenowa Hills on Wednesday in a semifinal contest at Reeths-Puffer High School.

The Rockets used tough defense, strong rebounding and great free throw shooting to shut down the Knights. They hauled down 33 boards in the game and converted 22 of 26 from the line.

Emily Caltigirone paced R-P with 15 points while Lauren Ross and Bridget McHugh added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Kaylyn Holtrop scored 18 points for Kenowa Hills.

The Rockets will face Muskegon on Friday at 7 p.m. on Friday in the district title game, with the winner advancing to next week’s regional round of the state tournament.
