Mona Shores girls tennis team ties Grand Haven 4-4, falls to Thornapple-Kellogg

The Mona Shores girls tennis team tied Grand Haven 4-4 on Tuesday, then lost to Thornapple-Kellogg 5-3 on Wednesday.

Against Grand Haven, Raine Jackson got the lone win for the Sailors in singles, beating Grand Haven’s Holly Waite 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.

The Sailors did much better in doubles, taking three of four matches. Emily Lieb and Linden Grantzkow (No. 2), Michaela Sander and Holli Brus (No. 3) and Gabbi Alderman and Lena Peisker (No. 4) got the wins.

Against Thornapple-Kellogg, the Sailors were again strong in doubles, getting victories from Lieb and Riley Trygstad (No. 1), Sander and Brus (No. 3) and Alderman and Peisker (No. 4).
