The Spring Lake softball team won its 90th consecutive conference game on Friday night, defeating Sparta by a 13-3 margin.

Leah Vaughan pitched the win for Spring Lake, striking out 14 batters and allowing two hits.

Vaughan had three hits, including a two-run home run, while Avery Flynn, Jenna Core, Molly Poole and Janna Ercole added three hits apiece. Ercole also knocked in four runs.

Spring Lake is now 20-2 on the season and 12-0 in league play.

GRAND HAVEN 5, HUDSONVILLE 3 – The Bucs scored four runs during the second inning on a home run from Madison Shumaker, RBI single by Emily Walcott and a two-run double from Ashlyn Hall.

Hall added a home run in the fifth inning.

Shumaker pitched the win for Grand Haven, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out six hitters.

HOLTON 20-18, LAKEVIEW 0-0 – The Red Devils softball recorded two shutouts in their doubleheader sweep against Lakeview.

Kylie Gould recorded the win on the mound, striking out six batters through three innings. Morgan Murat, Kaylie Piper, Riley Legard, and Gould each had two hits.

In the nightcap, Haylee Brant got the win on the mound. Gould was 3-for-3 with a home run. Sydney Byrnes and Kennedy Green each added three hits.

Holton improved to 19-3 overall on the season.

HART 9-21, BIG RAPIDS CROSSROADS 2-0 – In the opener, pitcher Finley Kistler got the win on the mound, striking out nine batters. Skylar Smith led the team with two hits while teammate Morgan Marvin had a hit and three RBIs.

In the nightcap, Cassidy Copenhaver was the winning pitcher, striking out seven hitters. Myryssa Hopkins led the Hart offense with three hits and four RBIs.

Sam James-Witteveen recorded a three-run homer while Smith and Kloe Dumonte each had three hits and three RBIs. Rylee Noggle finished with three hits.
