The Mona Shores softball team split two games on Saturday, defeating Grand Rapids South Christian 4-2 before falling to Zeeland West 8-5 in ten innings.

In Game 1, Lauryn Patterson picked up the win for the Sailors, allowing zero earned runs and striking out 15.

Bailey Graham led the offense with two this and a RBI.

In Game 2, Maddie Van Etten struck out 13 for the Sailors.

Zoie Willeke led the offense with four hits while Jaiden Warren had two hits.

Mona Shores is now 13-10 overall on the season.

HESPERIA FINISHES RUNNER-UP – The Hespeira softball team went 2-1 on Saturday in the Ken Smith Memorial tournament, losing 7-3 to North Muskegon before beating Walkerville 27-0 and Fremont 13-3.

Makenna Swisher led the Panthers with three hits and five RBIs in the two victories while Caragan Frees and Emily Bayle each had three RBIs in the Walkerville victory.

ORCHARD VIEW 14-11, MANISTEE 2-0 – The Orchard View softball team swept Manistee on Friday in a conference doubleheader.

In Game 1, Halee Holman picked up the win on the mound, striking out seven and allowing only four hits.

On offense, Cassidee White, Matisen Gaunt and Kaelyn Monarland each had three hits.

In Game 2, Allie Tenhove struck out 11 and allowed four hits while picking up the victory on the mound.

White and Tenhove each had two hits to pace the Cardinals offense.

With the victories, Orchard View improves to 14-4 overall and 8-0 in Lakes 8 conference play.
