The Muskegon Big Reds opened conference play with a dominating win over Kenowa Hills on Friday night. After a trio of battles with fellow state powers to start the season, Muskegon (4-0) thumped the Knights (2-2) 58-0 in an O-K Black game.

Tommy Watts got the scoring started with 15-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Watts tacked on a 60-yard run later in the quarter, putting Muskegon up 16-0. Cameron Martinez connected with Amari Crowley for a 51-yard touchdown pass to put the Big Reds up 24-0 after the first.

Martinez tossed a 79-yard touchdown to Japrie Henderson to extend the lead to 30-0. Martinez added a two-yard touchdown run before the half to put Muskegon up 36-0 at the break.

Robert Gee Jr. scored on an eight-yard run in the third quarter, followed by a 22-yard touchdown from Jacarri Kitchen to make it 50-0 at the end of three.

Bryan Stinson punched in a 12-yard run for the only score of the fourth quarter.

Martinez completed 8-12 passes for 243 yards and had three total touchdowns. Henderson was his top receiver, totaling 129 yards on three catches. Crowley had 51 yards on just one grab.

Watts led the Big Reds in rushing with 81 yards on three carries.

Desjuan Lindsay had eight tackles, while Dwight McKinney had seven and a sack.
