Sydney Bol hit a turnaround bank shot from the low block in the final seconds of overtime on Friday, giving the Fruitport girls basketball team a thrilling 42-41 victory over neighborhood rival Spring Lake.

Fruitport was led by Kennah VerMerris with 13 points and six rebounds, Bol totaled 10 points, Willo Staal added nine, and Elie Fisher contributed seven points and 17 rebounds.

The Trojans helped their own cause by hitting eight 3-pointers on the night. Spring Lake hurt itself at the free throw line, hitting only 9 of 22 shots.

Spring Lake was led by Jennifer Judge with 12 points and Abbi Perkins with nine. Meah Bajt had a great game defensively coming off the bench.

Fruitport improved to 3-0 on the season while Spring Lake dropped to 1-2.
