The Holton boys basketball team used a strong first quarter on Monday night to defeat Hart 47-39 in a conference clash.

The Red Devils jumped ahead of the Pirates 17-5 in the first quarter.

The Pirates fought back outscoring the Red Devils 8-6 in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 23-13 at halftime.

The comeback continued as the Pirates cut the lead to 33-26 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Red Devils were paced by Aidan Poling with 12 points. Lukas Raimekurs scored 11, while Wyatt Monette and Nathan Slowik pitched in with nine.

Hunter Tubbs led the Pirates with 11 points, while Delfino Hernandez chipped in with nine.

The Red Devils improve to 7-4 overall. The Pirates fell to 4-8 overall this season.

NORTH MUSKEGON 69, MUSKEGON HEIGHTS 43– The Norse cruised to a victory in a non conference matchup Monday night.

The Norse used a strong offensive third quarter to pull away and cruise to victory.

The Norse were led by John Hayhurst 26 points and 14 rebounds. Eric Rypstra had 18 points five rebounds and five assists while Brennen McManus added 12 points.

The Tigers were paced by Jaiden Williams with 10 points, and Kakari Edwards with nine points.

The Norse improve to 6-4 overall this season, while the Tigers fell to 2-7 overall.
