Bruce Thompson scored a pair of goals to lead the Ludington boys soccer team to a 5-1 win over Fremont on Thursday in the first round of Division 2 district tournament.
Kyle Wendt added a goal and an assist for the Orioles while Colby Peplinski and Noah King netted a goal each.
Parker Wendt and Nick Patterson added their names to the scoresheet with two assists each.
Ludington’s goalkeeper Tiler Mariison stopped seven shots.
Marcus Klimek tallied a goal, on an assist from David Wachter for the Packers.
Fremont’s goalkeeper Joe Kortage stopped 13 shots.
The Packers finished the season 14-2-2 overall, while Ludington improved to 11-4-2 overall this year and advances to play Spring Lake Tuesday night at Fruitport in the district semifinals.
