Mona Shores improved to 10-4 in conference play with an exciting win over Wyoming Thursday night. The Sailors edged the Wolves 4-3, taking the lead in the bottom of the sixth.

Reid McAvoy scored the winning run in the sixth and led the offense with three hits and two runs on the day. Jason Anderson added two hits, including a double, and an RBI.

Landen Thalman picked up the win, tossing three shutout innings in relief with two strikeouts. Brady Rose earned the save, striking out two in a scoreless seventh inning. 

The Sailors improve to 16-7 overall and 10-4 in conference play.

O-K GREEN

REETHS-PUFFER 18, GR UNION 2 — An eight-run first inning had the Rockets rolling early against Union as they cruised to an O-K Green win.

Kaden Edwards had four RBIs on three hits to lead the offense. Jaxson Whitaker had three RBIs on multiple hits, while Alex Johnson, Brody Panozzo, Jordan Bochenek, and Jeremy Ardshahi each drove in two runs. 

Ryan Barnes got the win on the mound, allowing no runs on three hits in four innings while striking out six batters.

The win puts RP at 13-6 overall and 8-4 in the O-K Green.Sam Liggett and Caleb Kozal each had two hits for WMC.

The win puts MCC at 12-6 overall and 8-1 in the Lakes 8.

LAKES 8

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 11, WEST MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 1 — Five players had two hits each for the Crusaders as MCC topped WMC Thursday.

Nick Powell had four RBIs on two hits to lead MCC. Navarre Klint had two hits and two RBIs, while Aiden Cook, Sam Convertini, and Dewey Modaff all had two hits a piece. 

Max Price got the win on the mound, giving up one unearned run while striking out 12 batters. 

ORCHARD VIEW 10, MANISTEE 0 — Eli Luce pitched a shutout for the Cardinals as they downed Lakes 8 foe Manistee. Luce pitched five innings and struck out four batters.

Connor Kennedy and Jacob Peterman had multiple hits, with Peterman driving in two runs. Korbin Tenbrink also drove in a pair for OV.

The win puts the Cardinals at 4-12 overall and 3-5 in the Lakes 8.

O-K BLUE

SPRING LAKE 6, ALLENDALE 5 — The Lakers picked up a walk-off win over the Falcons to finish a three-game series Thursday. Derrick Paggeot drove in the willing run as part of a 2-for-4 day.

Zach Schlepp started on the mound, pitching five innings with three runs allowed and eight strikeouts. Nick Penrice got the win in relief.

Schlepp and Garrett Lyyski both had two hits and an RBI, while Matthew Isip had a hit and drove in two. 

NONCONFERENCE

LUDINGTON 14, 22, SHELBY 2, 0 — The Orioles dominated Shelby in a doubleheader on Thursday, racking up 36 total runs on the day.

Hayden Madl got the win on the mound in Game 1, striking out seven and allowing one hit and one earned run. Stephen Weinert was a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate with a double and three runs scored. Ty Wincheski was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored while Johnny Weinert was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

In Game 2, Jacob Irelan pitched a four inning shutout allowing one hit while striking out six batters. Ireland hit a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, and scored four runs. Brad Mesyar had three hits with two runs scored and Jake Lamm had two hits with an RBI and three runs scored.

The wins send Ludington to 14-6 overall, including 6-2 in the Lakes 8 Conference.

HART 19, 2, MANISTEE CATHOLIC CENTRAL 16, 1 — The Pirates swept a double header with a pair of tight wins over Manistee Catholic.

Both offenses swung hot bats to start the day, combining for 35 runs in Game 1. Brandon VanderZanden had two hits and four RBIs to lead the way, while Kody Charron and Nick Simon had three RBIs each. Kyan Clark scored four times.

Pitching dominated the second game, as Blake Weirich tossed a complete game allowing two hits and striking out 13. Charron drove in the winning run with a walk-off double to score pinch runner Noah Smith.
