The Reeths-Puffer softball team pulled off a major upset in the first round of the Division 1 district tournament on Saturday, beating O-KLSJ Logo incert Black conference champion Mona Shores 14-4.

The Rockets unleashed an offensive fury in the final two innings, getting four runs in both the fourth and fifth to dime the Sailors.

Emily French capped off the victory with a two-run homer in the fifth inning. She also got the pitching win, scattering six hits with no walks.

Reeths-Puffer will now play in the district finals on Monday at Mona Shores High School at 2:30 p.m. The Rockets will play the winner of the Grand Haven-Kenowa Hills game, which is scheduled for noon.

Leading at the plate for R-P was Jayla Olson with three hits and an RBI, Carly Murat with two RBI doubles and MaKenna Johnson with two hits and an RBI.

MacKenzie Willeke with two hits and three RBIs, including a solo home run, for Mona Shores. Desi Parker had an RBI double.
