Kyleigh Martin pitched two phenomenal games to allow the Whitehall softball team to claim a Division 2 district championship on Saturday.

The Vikings beat Ludington 10-0 in the semifinals. Martin earned the win by striking out 10 and only allowing one hit. Onnyka Dempsey landed two hits for Whitehall, including a two-run homer, and Makenna Russel knocked in two runs with a hit.

Whitehall went on to beat Newaygo in the championship game 2-1. Martin was a hero again, striking out 15 Lion batters. Alyssa Taylor led the Viking offense with three hits.
