Mona Shores struggled on the road as they suffered their first loss of the year at Hudsonville.

The Sailors scored in double digits only in the first quarter as they fell 72-33 to the Eagles.

Mona Shores kept it close in the first quarter, trailing 21-13. But Hudsonville’s defense tightened up in the second quarter as the Sailors scored just four points and trailed 37-17 at halftime. Hudsonville tallied 23 third-quarter points as the Sailors had few responses. 

Ali Phillips led the scoring for Mona Shores with eight points. Khaleeya Cook and Mia Brown each had six points on the evening while Olivia Sobczak added five points of her own.

Mona Shores slips to 1-1 on the season and will travel to the U.P. to face Sault Ste Marie on Saturday, December 11th.
