The Whitehall girls basketball team notched their first win of the season with a 39-31 West Michigan Conference victory over a pesky Ravenna squad on Friday.

The Vikings were wide open the minute they stepped on the court, drumming up a big 34-17 lead over three quarters. Charley Klint led the way, racking up 16 points and six rebounds.

The Bulldogs rattled off 14 points in the fourth quarter but could only cut their deficit to eight points as the Vikings held strong.

Ashley Tenbrink also led Whitehall in the win with seven points.

Emma Gillard led Ravenna with a stat filled night, recording 11 points, six rebounds,  four steals and three blocks while Kendra Postema offered up six points and three rebounds.

Whitehall moves to 1-1 and visits Newaygo on Tuesday while Ravenna drops to 0-2 and travels to Hart for more WMC action.
