SPARTA–Fighting an uphill battle against the CSAA-Gold’s top team the Fremont bowling team fell in a hard 2-0 sweep by the Kent City Eagles at Sparta Lanes on Wednesday evening.

The boys crew kicked off the match with their highest scoring baker game of the season with a 193 but even that wasn’t enough for the advantage as the Eagles thew games of 226 and 222 to put the Packers behind 10-0.

The Packers continued to follow behind despite putting up some of the best scores of the season including a high team game of 938 and the Eagles demonstrated why they sit atop the conference throwing 998 and 1008 to down Fremont 28-2.

Andrew Lyon led the way for the Packers against the tough Eagles squad throwing a game of 214 while Ashton Yuhasz had 204 and Gabe VanVleet threw in a game of 199.

Feeling the same fate as the boys, the girls team also struggled against a hard hitting undefeated Kent City team as they lost both opening baker games and regular games to fall 29-1.

Makayla Johnson and Amelia Foster led the way for the girls throwing games of 165 and 129 respectively.

Fremont will be back to competition on Monday when they host a CSAA Individual meet at Fremont Lanes.
