BEREA, OHIO—The Muskegon Community College JayHawks traveled to Ohio this past weekend to compete in the Baldwin Wallace Twilight Classic.

A school record fell on the track with Zac Pray in a come from behind finish in the 200m dash to win his heat, finish 11th from heat 4 with a 22.29 which breaks the previous school record of 22.45. Pray also had a season best performance in the 400m dash finishing 2nd overall in 50.07. Running the 200m dash as well was Tyler Walker (22nd in 23.37 Season Best) and Tremain Willis (24th in 23.67 Season Best).

The Jayhawks also put together a 4×100 to finish 7th overall in 44.30. (team of Dobben, Walker, Willis and Pray).

Late in the evening under the lights Adam Wolffis and Kaden Hainer ran the 10k and finished 3rd and 4th respectively.

Payton Dobben was the lone field events competitor finishing 7th with a season best throw of 37.12m in the Javelin.

On the ladies’ side MCC saw a battle between Faith Clark (1:04.2) and Katie Ferris (1:05.23) in the 400m dash with Faith Clark taking control in the final 100 meters.

In the field events the ladies competed well with Katie Ferris finishing 12th in the high jump, Kaylin Meyers taking 11th and 12th in the long jump and triple jump. Karleigh Jeffries competed in the hammer throw finishing 22nd in a season best 32.37m and 17th in the discus.

The JayHawks rounded out their outdoor track season and will be preparing for the 2022 Cross Country Season starting in July.
