ALLENDALE–The Grand Haven Buccaneers boys and girls’ cross country teams swept the Allendale Falcon Invite Scarlet Division (big school) races on Saturday.

The meet was run at Allendale High School.

In the boys’ division, local team scores included Grand Haven with 59 points, which was good enough for first-place honors. Reeths-Puffer finished in sixth place with 167 points while Mona Shores came in eighth with 186 points.

Grand Haven junior Seth Norder took top individual honors with a time of 15:51.97.

Mona Shores senior Caleb Branch finished in third place with a time of 16:14.20. Reeths-Puffer junior Jaxon Allen came in fifth place with a time of 16:27.50 and Grand Haven sophomore Ben Held finished in the ninth spot with a time of 16:33.14.

In the girls’ division, Grand Haven finished in the top spot with 58 points.

Mona Shores came in fourth place with 83 points while Reeths-Puffer had a total of 218 points, good for eighth place.

Grand Haven sophomore Valerie Beeck finished in third place with a time of 18:41.10. Mona Shores freshman Ellery Horness came in fifth place at 19:24.30. Her teammate, senior Robyn Hunt, finished in eighth place with a time of 19:44.07 and sophomore Addison Smith of Grand Haven came in 10th place with a time at 19:51.01. The top runner for Reeths-Puffer was freshman Jersi Bilek, who finished 38th with a time of 21:41.10.

In the Falcon Division (small school) Montague finished in sixth place with with 194 points. North Muskegon came in seventh place with 195 points and Newaygo finished in 12th with 311 points.

The top individual runner for Montague was senior Owen Fairchild, who had a seventh-place finish with a time of 16:37.40. North Muskegon senior Jude Meldrum-Roy finished in 18th place with a time of 17:30.71 and Newaygo junior Mathew Miedema came in 53rd place with a time of 19:37.80.

In the girls’ division, Newaygo finished in sixth with 141 points while Montague came in ninth at 207.

Individually, Newaygo junior Remington Arney came in fifth place with place with a time of 20:07.24 while Montague junior Cammie Erickson came in 13th place with a time of 21:04.15.  North Muskegon senior Carolyn Bennett finished in 16th with a time of 21:31.14.
