The Newaygo boys’ basketball team overcame a slow start on Tuesday night and defeated Ravenna 63-57.

The Lions trailed 20-12 at the end of the opening quarter and were behind by three points at halftime.

Newaygo managed to take the lead during the third quarter.

Josiah Long paced the Lions with 24 points and seven rebounds while Logan Klomp added 10 points, five rebounds and five assists. Caris Nelson contributed with 10 points and five assists.

The Bulldogs were led by Caleb Forsyth with 18 points while Carter Schullo had 13 and Chade Thomas scored 11.
