KENT CITY–Kent City’s Samuel Martini and Lila Volkers took top individual honors in the boys and girls Central States Conference Championship Meet on Tuesday afternoon in an event held at Kent City High School.

Martini finished with a time of 16:40.11 while Volkers finished with a time of 18:53.73.

In the boys division the Reed City Coyotes claimed the title with a team score of 62 points. They were followed by Central Montcalm with 73 points and Big Rapids was just one point behind with a score of 74 good enough for a third place finish.

Other team scores included Tri County (96), Kent City (105), White Cloud (109), Chippewa Hills (154) and Newaygo (234).

Top runners in the LSJ coverage area included from Kent City’s Jaren Vogel (11th) and Leto Pendleton (24th).

Top runners from Grant included Brodie Delamater (10th), Logan Kilbreath (55th) and Anthony Castillo (73rd). 

Top runners from Newaygo included Jadon Ryman (44th), Mathew Miedema (45th) and Caleb Bays (65th).

Top runners from White Cloud included Nathan Ciolk (12th), Coleson Cruzan (17th) and Carson Foondle (27th).

In the girls division Central Montcalm got by Kent City by a score of 55-65. Chippewa Hills finished in third place with a score of 85 points.

Other team scores included Reed City (107), Newaygo (134), Big Rapids (152), Morley-Stanwood (153), Tri-County (157), White Cloud (191) and Lakeview (321).

Top runners from the LSJ coverage area included from Kent City’s Gracie Houtman (8th) and Isabella Max (10th).

Top runners from Newaygo included Remington Arney (5th), Zoey Walerczyk (15th) and Elizabeth Chaffee (31st).

Top runners from White Cloud included Andrea Feldpausch (25th), Jolena Deaton (32nd) and Kiara Edwards (33rd).

The top runners from Grant included Avary Losee (48th) and Cyanne Schuitema (82nd).
