NORTON SHORES –The Mona Shores volleyball team lost a heartbreaker in the Division 1 district finals on Thursday evening.

The Sailors battled hard but fell short in four close sets to Traverse City Central (25-17, 24-26, 21-25, 21-25).

“It’s been a great season,” said coach Kathy Hellmann. “The ladies went out playing hard.”

Ava Dunn led the way with 12 kills and two aces, while Kyann Hellmann made 40 assists.

Jersey VanderWall chipped in 10 kills with three blocks and Izzy Sturtevant added 24 digs and two aces.

Mona Shores wrapped up the 2022 season with a record of 25-12.
