NORTON SHORES – The Spring Lake boys’ basketball team lit it up in their victory over Western Michigan Christian on Tuesday evening.

All 12 players tallied points and the Lakers won, 73-41.

The Lakers jumped out front early and led 16-7 after the first quarter. 

The deficit grew even bigger in the second quarter as the Lakers outscored the Warriors, 19-6, to lead at the half, 35-13.

The Warriors regrouped and found some life on offense but the Lakers kept the upper hand. Despite the Warriors putting up 16 third-quarter points, the Lakers led 52-29.

The Lakers’ win was solidified with a fourth-quarter scoring run of 21-12.

Eli Morrison led the charge for the Lakers with 16 points and seven rebounds. Zach Schlepp and Karson George each followed with 10 points. Zane Stahl chipped in nine points. 

Jared Olsen was the leading scorer for the Warriors with 11 points, including a trio of 3-pointers.

Spring Lake (8-5, 5-2) will host Coopersville on Friday.

Western Michigan Christian (3-11) will travel to Hart on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
