Hart clinches WMC Rivers Division title with win over Hesperia

HESPERIA–The Hart girls basketball team secured the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division title on Thursday evening with a win over Hesperia, 64-7.

Addi Hovey led Hart with 20 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and three assists. Abby Hicks tossed in 12 points and came up with six steals. Aspen Boutell chipped in seven points, four assists and four steals. Mariana Vanagtmael contributed six points, six assists and five rebounds.

Hart raced out to a 26-1 lead after the first quarter of action and led 46-1 at the half. The Pirates outscored Hesperia 18-6 in the second half.

Hart (18-2, 11-0) will close out the regular season next Friday at Holton.

Hesperia (1-19, 0-11) will travel to Pentwater on Tuesday.
