MUSKEGON–A strong defensive performance propelled Oakridge to a 40-16 victory over league rival Orchard View on Tuesday evening.

The game was close throughout the first half with the Eagles holding the slight edge, 16-10. The Oakridge defense kept Orchard View scoreless in the third quarter and that allowed the Eagles to blow open the game.

Lily Blackburn led the Eagles with 11 points, seven steals and three assists. Destyni Lane scored eight points with four steals and three assists. Anna Lundquist tallied six points while grabbing 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Oakridge (14-4, 7-3) hosts Whitehall on Friday.

Orchard View (1-17, 0-9) travels to Fremont on Friday.
