WALKERVILLE — Pentwater held a six-point lead at the half and then outscored Walkerville, 35-18 in the second half to pull away from the Wildcats for a 66-45 West Michigan D League boys basketball victory Wednesday night.

 
Playing at home, the Wildcats finished the first quarter with a slight 13-12 edge before the Falcons caught fire offensively for a 19-15 advantage in the second and built a 31-28 lead at the half.
 
The Wildcats stayed with the Falcons in the first half with a hot shooting game from 3-point range, hitting on five triples in the first 16 minutes. Collin Chase had three, while Conner Shafer and Angel Santilla-Lopez each had one.
 
Pentwater outscored the Wildcats by seven, 18-11 in the third quarter and extended its lead to 10 points, 49-39 going into the fourth quarter. The Falcons had a 17-6 margin in the final eight minutes.
 
Kaleb Brown had a career night for the Falcons with 21 points, and he added four rebounds and two steals. Mikey Carlson finished with a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds as well as two assists and two steals.
 
Will Werkema-Grondsma contributed seven points, nine rebounds and three assists. Nathan Macher added six points and three rebounds, James Davis had four points and four rebounds and Trey Johnson had one point and two rebounds.
 
Pentwater was 12-of-16 at the free throw line.
 
Zeontae Delapaz led the Wildcats with 14 points. Chase finished with 12 points and Shafer added nine.
 
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Falcons and improved their record to 4-10 overall and 4-6 in the league. The Falcons host Brethren in  league game Friday night.
 
It was the Wildcats fifth straight loss and dropped their record to 1-11 overall and 1-9 in the league. Walkerville travels to Marion Friday night for another league contest.
