SCOTTVILLE– Ludington’s bowling teams came out on the winning side of the ledger Wednesday night when the Orioles swept both the girls and boys matches against Mason County Central at Stix Bowling Lanes.

The girls won their match, 30-0. Scores of the Baker games were 109-81 in the first and 146-82 in the second.

Ludington scoring in the first game included Rylee Hardenburgh with a 150, Grace Ashley with a 161, Sophia Rupurt with a 116, Karly Gokey with a 108 and Julie Gilchrist with a 104.

Hardenburgh again led the Orioles in Game 2 with a 149, Rupurt with a 125, Gokey and Gilchrist each with a 109 and Ashley with a 98.

“Our Bakers were a little rough to begin with, but in the second Baker the girls really picked it up,” said Ludington bowling coach Maggie Bates.

“For the individual games, we had a team total high of 639 tonight and that means that they’ve been working hard in practice and improving on things.”

The Oriole boys split the Baker games, losing the first, 126-95 but came back and took the second, 123-121.

Game 1 found the Orioles scorers being Cameron Fetters with a 185, Darius Byrd a 156, Dominic Reamer a 148, Jaden Shultz a 126 and Damion Ott a 118.

Orioles scoring in Game 2 included Reamer with a 156, Justin Lunde, Amari George and Fetters each with a 136 and Ott/Aidan Zinn an 83.

“The boys really wanted to take the win tonight, and worked hard to create the scores that they did,” said Bates. “Again, with the boys our Bakers started off a little rough and then picked it up in the second and won.

“However, we still need to make sure we work towards at least a 150 for them. For the individual games, they worked hard tonight to get their team total of 733.”
