HESPERIA–Ravenna had a bit of a slow start, but hit its stride in the second quarter on Friday night.

The end result was a 45-20 West Michigan Conference Rivers victory over Hesperia in girls’ basketball action.

Both teams struggled offensively during the opening eight minutes. Hesperia got out to an 8-5 lead after one quarter.

From that point on it was all Ravenna as the Bulldogs went on to outscore the Panthers 12-1 during the second stanza to grab a 17-9 halftime lead.

Ravenna held the upper hand in the third period, 14-8, and during the final eight minutes, 14-3, to secure the win.

Addison Gillard led the Bulldogs with a game-high 22 points. 

Grace Wenberg led Hesperia with nine points while Ali Townsend tossed in seven points.

Ravenna (6-11, 3-7) will host White Cloud on Tuesday.

Hesperia (1-17, 0-10) will host Manistee on Tuesday.
